GROWING UP...
Growing Up is a lovely, useful, and profoundly humane book. The author, Frank Strasburger, spent a long career helping his students, parishioners, children, friends, and even strangers through their troubles, their successes and failures, and the stories he recounts, which will hit a nerve with most readers, and the lessons he draws illustrate clearly that his time with them was not wasted. Much of the book can be engaging not just for adolescents and their parents and teachers but also for public policymakers and, really, anyone at any stage of life who has to navigate a society full of other human beings.
